My Journey to places in India starts here. I try to capture through my lens the beauty that I see along my way to share with the world.
The inspiration lies within India's epic stories which are a contribution to worlds history. These epics are dated thousands of years. And, some periods with events as they happened over the course of time:
- Indus Valley Civilization dated 3500-2000 BC
- Vedic Aryan period 1500-1200 BC
- Mauryan Empire from 321-184 BC
- Gupta Empire (Golden age) AD 319-510
- Muslims Arrived AD 700
- Chola Empire in South AD 850
- Islamic Ruler Ghur takes over Delhi AD 1192
- Vijayanagar Empire at Hampi AD 1336
- Invasion of Taimur AD 1398
- Portuguese captured Goa AD 1510
- Babur first Mughal emperor AD 1526
- English trade with India AD 1600
- End of Mughal Empire AD 1707
- Battle of Plassey AD 1757
- Indian Uprising AD 1857
- British control over India AD 1858
- Jalyanwalla Massacre by Gen. Dyers 1919
- Quit India Campaign 1942
- India’s Independence 1947 (scars of partition unhealed till date)
As we are not discussing Indian History I will go no further over this. But the events mentioned above are a key to places which you would come across very often during your tours in India. You will see forts, palaces, battle grounds, temples and vivid architectural wonders that are dated between 3500 BC and AD 1947. And yes there are places and art that are older which you would come across in Madhaya Pradesh central India with cave paintings and more. to be continued..
